Lemurs are a superfamily of strepsirrhine primates native to Madagascar. Other strepsirrhines includes the galagos, pottos and lorises from Africa and Asia. The lemur superfamily is divided into 8 lemur families consisting of 15 genera and more than 100 existing species.
