The family Phrynosomatidae includes a diverse assortment of North American lizards, collectively known as ‘earless lizards’. The family is split into nine genera:
- Callisaurus – zebra-tailed lizards
- Cophosaurus – greater earless lizards
- Holbrookia – earless lizards
- Petrosaurus – California rock lizards
- Phrynosoma – horned lizards
- Sceloporus – spiny lizards
- Uma – fringe-toed lizards
- Urosaurus – tree and brush lizards
- Uta – side-blotched lizards
